Doubling Up

Be mindful of what missions your contacts are offering. Very often you will be able to get two identical missions requiring you to arrest a number of villains of a specific faction. So, try not to select one of these types of arrest missions until you see that you have two similar ones available.

Often you will have opportunities to select multiple missions in the same zone. To keep travel time down, capitalize on these. When you can roll through missions quickly, you really make that mission bonus worthwhile as it can greatly increase the rate at which you earn experience points.

Contact Management

At the early levels, you won?t have too many contacts to worry about. In the later levels, you will have several contacts for a given level range. The best bet is to take three closely located contacts, hopefully in the same zone, and keep doing missions until they get to Call status. Then you can hit up your other new contacts and more easily coordinate nearby missions since you will have 3 different contacts that you can call to see what missions are available without having to travel to them.

Delaying Hazard Zone Missions

Sometimes you will have a mission that requires you to take out a number of villains in a hazard zone. If you solo, this can be extremely difficult if you are a lower level than the very large groups of villains that reside there. I suggest selecting these missions as late as possible so you can level up a bit on regular missions or city zone street fighting. The Hollows and Boomtown were very difficult for me in this respect.

Mission Difficulty and Bonuses

There are several different difficulty settings you can choose when you visit a Hero Corps Field Analyst. You will probably be best keeping the default, mid-range setting until you find life getting too difficult or too easy. As you increase the difficulty setting, expect to see more villains, higher levels, and higher tiers (more bosses.) The mission completion bonuses will increase accordingly, but not enough to risk using a difficulty setting that may be a bit more than you can handle. The biggest perk to a higher difficulty is the increase in bosses which results in more powerful enhancement drops.
